ABOUT ONLI

The Ontario Native Lacrosse Invitational (ONLI) will bring teams together from across Ontario to compete in a friendly, yet competitive invitational tournament. Youth ages 13-19 will travel with their teams and family members to compete and have fun. This will be the first ONLI hosted by ISWO, building on similar provincial tournaments such as ONVI and ONBI. The goal of hosting ONLI is to build confidence, create friendships on and off the court, and strengthen community, while creating opportunities for Indigenous youth to participate in competitive sport with their peers. The ONLI will act as an identifier for participation in the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG).

Registration and competition format

Athletes will be drafted to their teams for the weekend, on Friday, March 31st during the Athlete Combine, where we will be hosting a skills session/skills competition.

Players must register individually, as all players will be assigned to teams for the weekend on Friday, March 31. To register, players (or their legal guardians), must create an account and submit the required information, including emergency contact information, health information and sign-off on waivers. Parental/guardian permission is required for youth under the age of 18.

Registration fees are as follows:

  • Individual Athlete Registration Fee – $40.00 (CAD, inclusive of taxes). Athletes will receive a swag package as part of their registration.

Payment options include:

  • Online payment by a credit card; or
  • Payment by e-transfer (detailed instructions and prompts are included in the registration system).

You must pay to reserve your spot in the tournament; if payment is not received by March 27, 2023, you will not be included in the final rosters and will not be permitted to participate in the 2023 ONLI.

The 2023 ONLI competition schedule will be posted to this website one week before the event. All registered and paid players will receive a 2023 ONLI Information Package, with everything that you need to know, including the game schedule, competition format, code of conduct rules, etc. prior to the event.

COMMUNITY FEAST

The 2023 ONVI will host a Community Feast for all participants, coaches and chaperones on the evening of Saturday, March 4 at 6:00 p.m. Location will be confirmed and shared closer to the event.

Age Divisions

MALE U16 & U19

U16; born 2007 and later; and
U19; born 2004 and later.

FEMALE U19

U19; born 2003* and later.

*Please note that female athletes born in 2003 may participate in the ONLI, but only those athletes with birth years 2004-2008 are eligible to be identified for Team Ontario to participate at NAIG 2023.

How to register

  1. Create an account if you are not registered in our system. Existing ISWO members can log into their account first and then proceed to fill out the registration form.
  2. Answer all of the required information (if you are under the age of 18, you will need to provide parent/guardian information and permission).
  3. Sign off on all waivers in the registration form.
  4. Select payment option (i.e., pay by credit card or pay by e-transfer).
  5. You will receive an email confirmation of your registration.
  6. You can update your profile or edit your information at anytime via your account.
  7. Payment receipts are accessible through your account.
